Activities for carers

Melton Luncheon and Expo

We are pleased to be able to offer a new nutrition seminar series. The previous two series on this subject have been very popular with kinship carers so we have asked our resident speaker Nikki to come back with a new theme. This year we are focusing on nutrition for healthy ageing. Even the youngest of us are getting older and need to focus on this. These seminars are also fun and remember the kinship carers who attend will be given a voucher.

Melton Luncheon and Expo

KCV is pleased to announce a partnership with the MP for Melton, Steve McGhie. Steve has for some time been aware of the needs of the kinship carers in his electorate and is committed to increasing the appreciation for their efforts which will be conveyed to them.

We look forward to seeing kinship carers at this inaugural luncheon for kinship carers in the Melton area and beyond.

New seminar series for kinship carers

Navigating Difficult Conversations – advocating, boundaries and conversations that matter – BOX HILL Seminar

Dear kinship carers,
Kinship carers sometimes find themselves in complex situations. Consequently, they might be involved in challenging conversations with schools, case managers, family members and the children in their care. Knowing how to handle these conversations calmly and effectively is a key to making sure a child’s needs are understood and that carers feel respected, supported and empowered.

This luncheon seminar is designed specifically with kinship carers in mind and will give you some tips about how to engage in complex conversations.

Cheers

Director
